MAH DAMBA

Mah Damba was born in Bamako, Mali, in 1965 into the Sissoko Griot family. Her father was a well respected Griot named Djeli Baba Sissoko and her aunt is the renowned vocalist Fanta Damba.

Early on in her career Mah became a member of the ensemble belonging to the celebrated Malian singer Kasse Mady Diabaté, and she later became a part of Mandé Foli. Her style is rooted in the traditional Manding musical repertoire.
