Sidiki Camara is considered on of the leading percussionists from Mali, and is also regarded as one of the founders of the modern current of Manding Music.
From early on in his career Sidiki has worked with high profile artists such as Toumani Diabaté, Oumou Sangaré and Habib Koité, and has toured as a member of the 'National Ballet of Mali'.
Sidiki later moved to Brussels where he has continued to flourish as an outstanding musician, collaborating with Malian stars such as Rokia Traoré, Boubacar Traoré, and Mamady Keita. He has travelled to Europe as a featured guest with Bill Frisell's New Quartet. Sidiki has now established himself as a percussion teacher alongside founding the Cultural Exchange Programme called "Wakinama". |
